Flag Caprese

This American Flag 🇺🇸Caprese salad is so festive for your celebration.

In the dressing, I use Teresa’s Tuscan Spice. It is an amazing spice blend that is so versatile. I use it in salad dressings, roasted veggies and potatoes, fish, meat and more. It is an amazing combination of spices blended into one. 

I also use my olive oil because a good quality olive oil is imperative in a salad link this.

🇺🇸RECIPE🇺🇸

Ingredients

(Serves 6)

1.25 lbs Fresh Mozzarella, sliced and pat dry with cloth or paper towels. 

3 Large Heirloom Tomatoes, sliced 

1 Cup Blueberries 

Dressing. 

¼ Cup Olive Oil 

2 Tbsp. Balsamic

½ tsp. Italian Spice Blend, I use Teresa’s Tuscan Spice 

¾ tsp. Salt 

1-2 tsp. Pepper 

Method 

For this I used a 12 x 18 cutting  board and a 1 inch star shaped cookie cutter for the stars. 

Using your star cookie cutter cut out about 8 stars

Arrange a line of tomatoes as the red stripe part of the flag. Then a line of mozzarella for the white part. Then another layer of tomatoes and then mozzarella. Arrange a single layer in a box shape to create the blue part of the flag. 

In a small bowl mix the olive oil, salsa mix, Italian Spice, salt and pepper
