Homemade Butter

Trust me once you make this one ingredient butter you won’t buy the store bought version again.  It is a simple thing that you can make at home and it tastes incredible.

I love to experiment with it and use different flavorings.  My family loves it!

Homemade Butter

Ingredients

Makes 2 (½ cup) Sticks

1 Pint Heavy Cream

TOPPING of choice, you can even use just salt or leave plain

Method

In a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment add in the cold heavy cream. Beat on medium for about 20 minutes.

You will notice the cream will go from a liquid, to a whipped cream, and then break down again and separate into pieces of butter and buttermilk.

Reserve the butter cream and use it in things like buttermilk pancakes or chicken.

Take the butter solids out of the bowl, squeeze out the excess water and put in a bowl with cold water and ice for 5 minutes.

Take the butter out of the ice bath and pat dry with a cloth.

At this point you can keep the butter the way it is and form into sticks, or you can add flavoring.

I love to try different things like truffle salt or everything bagel seasoning.

Store in a butter dish and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
