Almond and Dark Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free)

This Almond Chocolate Cake flavored with my homemade limoncello is gluten free and made with 7 ingredients that you might have on hand right now. It’s so delicious and easy to do. You will love it.

Almond Chocolate Cake

Ingredients (serves 10)

9 oz Butter, melted and slightly cooled 

6 eggs, separated 

1 Cup Sugar

2 oz Limoncello

14 oz. Blanched Almonds, chopped finely 

9 oz. Dark Chocolate, chopped into tiny pieces 

Confectionary Sugar for garnish 


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 inch springform pan with butter and line the bottom with parchment. 

For the almonds, put them in a food processor and chop until fine but roughly. You don’t want it to be too chunky but you don’t want it to be powdery either. 

In a mixer combine the egg yolks, sugar and limoncello until creamy. 

In a separate bowl beat the eggs whites until still peaks form. 

Fold the whites and butter into the egg yolk mixture. 

Then fold in the almonds and chocolate. 

Pour into the springform pan and bake on for about 40 minutes until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. 

Cool and sprinkle on powdered sugar and serve.
