Tacos

Happy Taco Tuesday everyone.I love having taco night in my house.  My homemade taco seasoning is so easy to make.  I love making it homemade because I feel like you can really control the ingredients in it and make sure everything is high quality and healthy.  Sometimes the store bought ones can contain unnecessary ingredients that we don’t need to be consuming.  But don’t even get me started on that subject.  I like to serve these tacos with my homemade salsa and guacamole.  Stay tuned for those recipes.

Tacos

Serves 8

1 Onion – DIced

2 Tbsp. Olive Oil

3 tsp. Chili Powder

2 tbsp. Cumin

2 tsp. Salt

3 tsp. Paprika

2 tsp. Oregano

2 lbs. Ground Turkey

12 oz. Can Tomato Sauce

8 Oz. Water

Tacos

In a large frying pan, heat up the oil and add the onion.  Cook the onion until it is translucent and add in the meat.  You can use the meat of your choice.  I like to use turkey meat.  Using the side of a wooden spoon, break up the meat into tiny pieces.

In the meantime, in a bowl combine the chili powder, cumin, salt, paprika, and oregano,

Cook the meat until it is no longer pink and add in the spices.  Combine well with your meat for about a minute.  Add in your tomatoes and water and cook for another 10 minutes until the excess liquid has evaporated.  Serve with taco shells.  For taco night I like to serve this with homemade salsa, guacamole and some sour cream and lettuce!
