This time of year there is so much amazing fresh 🌿basil🌿 I never want any of it to go to waste. I have three methods that I have used to preserve it. PS the first one is my favorite!!!
🌿 Method 1- To every one cup of basil (cleaned and dried) that you have add 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil to it in a food processor and blend well. Portion into a small ice cube tray and freeze (see my stories for the ice cube tray I use). Once frozen, remove from the ice cube tray and store in the freezer in an ziplock bag until use.
🌿 Method 2- take your clean basil leaves and add to a mason jar. Sprinkle in some salt, cover the jar and shake it. Remove the lid and fill the container with olive oil. Store in the refrigerator and use when needed. The oil will taste amazing too.
