Homemade açai bowls are one of my kids favorite breakfasts. Not only are they cheaper to make at home but you can control the ingredients. Many places add unnecessary sugars that they simply just don’t need.
Also, this recipe can be so fun too. I whip up the açai mixture and create a bar of delicious toppings to top it with. Our favorites are bananas, strawberries, blueberries and kiwis. We also love granola and Nutell. I sometimes even add peanut butter. It’s so good and it’s so healthy.
Quick note, after you make the açaí mixture you can freeze in individual containers. You can either use it at a later date. OR if your family is always on the move like mine, you can pack it in a cooler (freeze solid first and keep the toppings separate) and take it with you. It’s a healthy and delicious meal. So refreshing too in the warm summer months.
