Apple Cider Donuts with Apple Butter Whipped Cream

-1 ½ cups of all purpose flour

-1 ½ tsp baking powder

-1 tsp salt

-1 tsp cinnamon

-¼ tsp nutmeg

-⅓ cup of apple cider

-¼ cup buttermilk

-1 tsp vanilla

-1 stick of unsalted butter at room temp

-½ cup of brown sugar

-½ cup of granulated sugar

-2 eggs at room temp

-2 cups of heavy whipping cream

-1 ½ cups of confectioners sugar

-3 TBSP apple butter (see highlights for our apple butter recipe!)

For dipping:

-½ stick melted butter

-1 cup of granulated sugar

-3 tsp cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray donut pans (12 donuts total)  with non stick cooking spray.  Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and whisk until fully combined.  Combine Cider with buttermilk and vanilla.  Using paddle attachment, combine butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar on high for 3 to 4 minutes.  Add eggs one at a time.  With the mixer on low add ⅓ of the flour mixture and half of the wet ingredients.  Continue alternating until all is combined. Transfer the batter to a piping bag. Cut out the bottom of the piping bag.  Fill the donut pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.  Remove from the oven and immediately brush the donuts with the melted butter and dip in the cinnamon sugar.  Make your whipped cream by combining the heavy cream, confectioners sugar and the apple butter.  Using another piping bag add your whipped cream and pipe into the center of the donuts. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
